FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Friendly Brand?

Friendly Brand is a California cannabis extract company specializing in high-end vape cartridges, concentrates, and tinctures. We were the first company to introduce live resin products to the California market. Owner-operated and fully self-funded, we pride ourselves on our authenticity as operators who truly come from the cannabis culture.

What makes your products different from others on the market?

Each cultivar is unique and best expresses itself through varying extraction parameters. With our Nucleus and Live 2.0 proprietary extraction techniques, we adjust the filtration and temperatures specific to that cultivar to bring out the very best expression with each individual strain. This vastly increases terpene and flavor preservation compared to current methods. We take our time to find the right recipe for every batch we create.

Where can I buy Friendly products:

Are your products lab-tested?

Yes, all of our products undergo rigorous lab testing to ensure purity, potency, and safety before they reach the shelves. Soon we will implement CAT 4 testing with all our products, which is the highest available pesticide testing available today. Ensuring the safety of our products is of the utmost importance to us.

Who do you source your cannabis from?

We source all of our indoor and outdoor flower from reputable, craft small farmers. Partnering with the best in the game allows us to create some of the best oil available today. We can’t do what we love without our small farmers! Here’s a short list of some of our collab partners: Huckleberry Hill Farms, Ridgeline Farms, CAM, LAX Packs, Preferred Gardens, Casa Flor, Bosky, and Snowtill with many more to come!

What’s the difference between live and cured resin?

The primary difference between the two lies in the plant material used in the extraction process. Live resin is made from fresh cannabis plants that are harvested and immediately frozen before the extraction process begins. The freezing of the fresh plant material helps to preserve delicate terpenes and cannabinoids that can be lost during the curing process. The preservation of terpenes in live resin can enhance the overall cannabis experience, potentially leveraging the entourage effect for more pronounced effects. Cured resin is made from cannabis that has been dried and cured after harvesting. Cured resin naturally tastes more like the flower in its raw form. The difference is solely in how the harvest is processed and both offer unique experiences for different reasons.

Are your cartridges compatible with all vape pens?

All our cartridges are equipped with 510 threading. This is the universal hardware standard throughout the industry. Our cartridges will work with any battery that accepts this size threading.

What’s the difference between indica, sativa, and hybrid?

Sativa, Indica, and Hybrid cannabis strains are categorized based on their different characteristics, origins, and effects. Sativas are generally equatorial, causing them to grow taller with more slender, narrow leaves creating an uplifting, energizing, and “head high” effect. Indicas are derived from colder, more northern latitude areas. Indica plants are usually shorter and bushier, with wider leaves and creating a more relaxing, sedative, and “body high” effect. Hybrid cultivars are a crossbreed of both indica and sativa and can exhibit traits from both parent strains, resulting in various shapes and leaf structures. The effects of hybrid strains can vary widely depending on the specific genetics and ratios of indica to sativa.

What are cannabis terpenes and their effects?

Cannabis terpenes are aromatic compounds found all over the plant kingdom. They contribute to unique scents and flavor profiles. Beyond their role in aroma, terpenes also interact with cannabinoids to influence the overall effects of cannabis. A good analogy is to think of THC as the engine of a car, while terpenes are the driver. Terpenes direct THC and other cannabinoids to different parts of the body, creating different effects for everyone. Here are some common cannabis terpenes, characteristics, and potential effects:

Myrcene – earthy, musky, and herbal known for its relaxing and sedative properties.

Limonene – citrusy flavor and aroma known for its uplifting and mood-enhancing effects.

Pinene – piney flavor and aroma believed to offer anti-inflammatory properties while increasing alertness.

Linalool – floral and lavender-like known for its calming effects, reduces anxiety and promotes relaxation.

Caryophyllene – spicy and peppery providing possible anti-inflammatory effects, along with pain relief.

Terpinolene – herbal, floral, with a hint of citrus, promoting uplifting and stimulating effects.

Terpenes not only enhance the sensory experience of cannabis but also play a role in its medicinal applications. Different cultivars have varying degrees of terpene profiles, which contribute to their unique effects and therapeutic benefits. A great resource is Leafly.com, where you can research the terpene profile of most strains available today. Finding terpenes that work well with your body is more important than solely distinguishing between sativa, indica, and hybrid categorization.

How do I operate the Friendly battery?

Our batteries are compatible with 510-threaded cartridges and include a USB-C charger. There are 3 heat settings available. Select your own desired heat modes from Blue (2.3v), to Yellow (2.6v), and Red (2.9v). Press the button 5 times rapidly to turn the battery on/off. Press the button 2 times rapidly to activate the pre-heat mode and press the button 3 times rapidly to switch the heat setting. We normally recommend keeping your setting on low to medium to retain more flavor with less burning of the oil, similar concept to a “low-temp dab.” Higher temperatures will increase the psychoactive properties, but valuable terpenes will be lost, reducing flavor. To each their own, so use it however you see fit for your preferable method of consumption.

My Friendly Applicator isn’t filled to the 1000mg line, why is it short?

As each cultivar expresses itself differently in flavor and effect, so does the density of the oil per strain. We weigh all of our Applicators to exactly 1g. Some cultivars create a denser oil, which means it doesn’t fill up the volume of the applicator as listed in the incremental measurement lines. Rest assured; you’re always receiving the full gram whenever you purchase a Friendly Applicator.
